Hi All

Just like to say Hi from North Wales, after doing some research here over Christmas I finally decided to sell my Golf R and picked up an Ibis White RS3 from Newcastle a week ago! this is my second RS having previously owned a RS4 B7 plus 3 x VW R's,  Golf R, R36 & R32.

I hope the photo uploads! this was from the day I drove back, I think its at the services near Shap on the M6, great day for a drive in an RS!

Hi

Well Mk6 Golf R 5Dr 6 Speed DSG, what do I say, what a car! I really kind of have to go back to the R32 as this is my first flirtation with German AWD Car's as this replaced a FWD Mazda 3 MPS.

My first real car was in the 90's, a UK Sunny GTiR and this gave me an insight to AWD Performance, practicality and Porsche Embarrassing!! usually with MTB Bikes Strapped to the back: ), fast forward to 2009 I returned to performance cars, and a long came the R32 and then my daughter mmmm I needed a Bigger Car!!!  R36 and my first DSG Car, I replaced this with my Dream Car RS4, Fantastic but mmmmm Manual! whats that all about, along came a chance to drive a friends RS3 , mmmm I thought thats a bit better than the REVIEWS say......

At this point I had purchased a 7 spd DSG Kombi Transporter, I had decided the RS4 needed to go and I liked the size of the Golf, it suits the North Wales Roads, so to answer the Golf R Question, its a very underrated Car and it is easy to drive at 80/90% all year round, I only bought it 6 Months ago however it made my mind up that I needed a RS3, so here I am...........

I had become fairly confident in the Golf, very easy to press on, very balanced and my feeling was it comfortably handled and delivered its power to the road all year round, perfect when you live in Wales, the RS3 feels similar, the 7th Gear brings its cruising revs down, however as its been so cold and damp I haven't really pushed the RS yet.......

Love the forum, I browsed quite a bit over the Xmas period and learnt a lot!! Cheers : )))

And before you say it Roy......YES it's not in the south AGAIN, but as long as you take your anti-allergic pills you will be able to go out of the area

I sadly couldn't make the recent Lakes run, but it would be great to be part of future gatherings.
I don't think I have ever seen so many RS3 together.

That Looks Like a Typical Wet Welsh Day, thats why I drive a VAG Car I love the Welsh roads and I drive from top to bottom and back for a living!  usually in my Sportine Van, the classic North Wales Drive is Oswestry, Lake Vyrnwy, Bala, Betws, Ruthin and home, The road from Bala to Portmadog being my favourite.

Let me know of any meets, I'd love to join in.....

Hi Clarky , welcome!

I don't know exactly were in N.Wales you are but suspect its not far from me !....I`m up on the North Wales Coast.

I drive a Daytona RS3 (standard spec) which I have had for almost a year , I also am lucky enough to drive the so called `Evo Triangle` road route on a regular basis , so I will be watching out for you!!
