Thanks for this forum. I am a new member living in Geneva, Switzerland with a 2001 S4 avant. I am hoping someone might be able to provide some advice. The car has only 65,000 kilometres (I bought it second hand 2 years ago) and last week the power stopped on the highway and the dealership tells me the engine needs to be replaced. I am not a techie and so am looking for additional diagnostics and opinions. Can anyone suggest who could help me? It has been a great car and it shouldn't be dying like this.

Common problems with the 2001 S4 were:

Throttle Body Boot tears.
F-hose leaks.
ABS module breaks.
K03 turbos DIE.
Coolant leaks
Valve Covers leak
Rear Main seal leaks
engine misfires
