Im new here but I need some advice regarding mods.

Basically I was coming home from work and a e90 Black 330d was in front of me. I was coming out of a 30mph speed limit were a long straight was ahead. I was doing about 50mph and then decided to go past him. But the 330d took off and I was held out. Then! he started to pull away from me? Its a diesel for crying out loud! Its obviously modded but its a diesel. What are your views on this?

rebadged perhaps??? i think they are twin turbo so it would have some serious torque

I used to have a 335D(two actually) which was tuned, and had 350BHP 520ft of torque roughly, and there wasn't much that would keep up with it on the road, once it was rolling.  The big twin exhausts were a giveaway.  The 335i looks identical, bar the badging, and these can easily get to 400BHP

Get it mapped

But as mentioned if his car was a derv and a tuned one at that, from a roll unless your mapped you wouldn't stand much chance. They are torque monsters.

Map the 3 though and you'll be north of 400ftlbs yourself so you could put up more of a fight.

The car has only two tailpipes on the left side, the black smoke indicated that it was a diesel and from what I could see it was a manual so it was definitely a 330d Manual. I was gutted! It was pulling away from me and it was a diesel. I know of a 330d running 320bhp and 512LBS of torque. Im wondering is this the one I have been hearing about. But wouldn't the clutch hold up to that power? Unless it has been uprated.

Its the fact the car pulled away from me, I can't understand. It was pre-LCI so it was around 2007 and worth about £11,000. Its frustrating as I spent a hell of alot more than that, and got owned by a smokey diesel

Hate smelly Diesels !!! .... don`t worry , its not all about speed ,,,, try and get him to pass you in the wet or on a fast `B` road round some corners!

There was a diesel lupo at inters doing the 1/4 mile in 10.4

That's the thing when I went around the corner I was on his bumper but as soon as the road was straight again it was bye bye to me!

I got completely smoked!! He was pulling away from me at least 2 to 3 cars as soon as we hit 80 then once we hit 100 he left me for dead. Gutted
