I think it would be really cool and am considering doing this to my car. I’m not talking about a lip on the edge but a full on cut off the original arches and metal fabricate them further out. Forget how difficult the fabrication could be as I’ve got someone who can do anything. I’m looking for ideas to have this looking amazing and would consider anything.
One thing that is difficult is trying to sort out the correct wheels and tyres due to the offset. Whatever I go for I will be using semi slicks like AR1s and would likely to have to go 19s unless I can get around some difficult height increases which is doubtful.
Offer is the biggest problem if going up to tyre sizes between 265 and 305. So the initial things I need to consider are:
1. How wide could you run on the front without the steering being terrible? I see the nee RS3 may be running 265, but assume the rears will be narrower.
2. Is there a way of bringing out the hub to allow a wider rim without having to go below 40 offset? Seems a lot of decent forged wheels don’t go lower.
3. Any ideas on how the arches would be best suited to an RS3 Saloon?
4. If the body is being chopped what else could be done at the same time?
I’m thinking outside the box and anything will be considered.
I’m considering these wheels but would ask for the transfers so I could do the centres to match the car and have the wheels sprayed black gloss and layered over the transfers.
Sorry the site is playing up and won’t allow me to add the picture, even though it’s not too big. They are Superforgia forged OX wheels with the quick release centres.
