so my 8P is approaching 65,000 miles and is still proving to be a fun and reliable daily driver. I was wondering though if there was anything that's not covered under the usual kind of service inspections that I should be looking into getting checked / replaced to ensure that the car keeps going strong?

Cheers for any suggestions.  :)

Decoke, injector replacement and loctite swirl flap screws in.

I thought decoke would be one of them.

Are OEM injectors the way to go for replacement?

And what are swirl flap screws? Not familiar with those...

The injectors originally fitted can fail so fit the OEM superseded one's,also the swirl flap screws in the inlet manifold can come loose & get digested by the engine with catastrophic results 😳

What dell said. It makes sense to do it the same time as the decoke and injector replacements as everything is off anyway so saves on labour/ new gaskets etc. Will be an expensive visit for sure but piece of mind

No doubt. I'll make enquiries about the cost when I get the service done this time. But as I'm going to be keeping the car for a while longer and using it every day I don't want it to die on me any time soon. Haha.

Do we have an exploded picture of these swirl flap screws? Also a revised part number for the newer injectors?  :up_it:

See attached images. New core plugs can be purchased 12/13mm I can’t rmemeber top of my head. You can see by the diagram where their located though. Also see part number for injectors.

Rob.

The injectors I fitted last year may have been superseded so Audi will only supply the most up to date one's.Here's the swirl flap screws.Attached File  20190601_123223.jpg   49.96K   14 downloadsDell.

Rob.

I didn't replace the screws I just remove & refitted using a strong Loctie supplied by Jay,the core plugs are 12mm which I purchased off eBay via a link from Jay.

Some screws came undone easily others were right pigs due to the inconsistent amount of thread lock.

Much appreciated for that boys as usual  :up_it: .

So just to confirm and excuse my simplistic mind, you need to remove the 'core plugs' to get to the screws/bolts? Initially i was thinking the screws we're the core plugs but actually its the screws behind the plugs/bung?

I'll put this on my list of many jobs to do, Cheers!

Correct, the plugs are essential a cover with the screws directly below. Obviously the core plugs serve a purpose for pressure but yes. Just punch them out and punch them in (with the lower intake on the table) not on the car.
