I finally gave in and got a BMW something I swore I never would
But don’t worry it’s not a car ( so the RS3 is safe ) Attached File  5BF13421-229A-461C-9893-364B1340B840.jpeg   150.44K   16 downloads

I tried that one once, I tuned a K6 GSXR1000 and spec'ed it as a race bike and promptly ran out of talent at croft on the first day.

Since then I've decided 4 wheels is far better and thats how the RS3 came to be. Unfortunately I've kept ahold of my habit for tuning things and the RS3 has gone the same way.

I’ve run out of talent too many times to count I think I’ve been off more then I’ve been on but I still can’t give them up.

The RS3 is standard at the moment but I think it will be getting the MRC treatment soon

Looks like a coffin on wheels to me.  Lots of fun until it isn't!  I never recovered after being an unwilling pillion passenger on a 170 mph Fireblade ride 25 years ago!

Bloody ell Tony, sounds hellish. I fancied a bike for a number of years but am happy with the RS. Of course at 3 figures the illusion of safety is there in a car.

At least in a motor the wind is not dragging you out of it! Pillion at 180 is not where you want to be!  The RS3 is a comfortable and stable place to be at warp speed although I have to be fairly careful on the Fen as the roads sink on the peat and there is always a river to crash into.

My problem is want to see 200 the bike is by all means capable but at the moment 186 is as far as I’ve gotten it.

But like you said very big difference between thy speed in a car and a bike

Wow ,quality choice mate jealous ... funny I was looking at another bike to replace my GSXR (needed an upright ..age thing I think 🤔 )found the GSXR to uncomfortably below a speed of 80mph and was actually looking at the 1000r and guess what happened !!! I brought me RS3 instead 😀😀😀😀😀 don’t regret it but ya still can’t substitute the buzz of the bike ... Guy at works got the tyco limited edition drooling over it every time he decides to ride it in which is rare nowadays .....

Yeah, the s1000R is a hell of a bike mind! The thing with the modern bikes is there is so much electronics to keep you on toure actually relatively safe unless you target fixate into a tree or something.

I was the same though, always wanting to see how fast I could go. The last crash beat that out of me though, hitting the deck at 90 will do that to you. The bike then hitting me as I bounced back up just made doubly sure lol.

I'm a bit old for it now but when younger I used to enjoy "jousting" with the bikers in the twisties. Come a straight road though they were gone!

Corners are fun but like you said in a straight line it’s just a legal missile

I have an old 1966 Triumph Bonneville, not fast by any stretch of the imagination ,

When these sports bikes come flying past at blur speed they frighten the daylights out of me,,,, way to quick for me

I'm too scared even to try one . :(

Just seen me bud at work tonight with his new Triumph, first time I’ve heard it since having full SC-project system fitted Jesus to say this thing is loud is a under statement ,we start at 4am some weeks,he has to push it down the road before starting it, my ears are still ringing ...thought I’d post a pic lovely bike tho ....Attached File  564E0060-3CB9-4A7A-8AEF-48D8A9DE5C4E.jpeg   73.69K   10 downloads
