Brake disc corrosion

Hi Guys,

I have a facelift RS3 that I bought in Sept 2018.

I had the front discs replaced (Feb 2019) at 800 miles (started marking at 250 miles).

One had a ring of corrosion about 1/4" wide around middle of disc.

Had them replaced under warranty.

Don't use the car during winter so only done 1750 miles now but front disc is corroding again. Car is garaged when not being used.

Same thing with a double band of corrosion around middle of disc. Won't clean up with some 'spirited' driving.

Notified them Jan this year.

Audi UK refusing to fix again under warranty as only guaranteed for 6 months/6000 miles and they won't replace same part twice.

They say it is wear and tear. 

See a few posts regarding brake squeals and the odd one about rusting and warping.

Any advice to convince Audi UK otherwise?

I will replace them eventually but not just now.

I got similar grooves in my 8P .Audi replaced pads,discs and calipers at 21000 miles and 2 years old.

Don't know why you can't view image.

Sent another message to Audi UK so Customer Relations Manager going to phone me. 

Told them not to phone unless replacing discs.

Did mention to advisor to check this website if he thinks Audi don't have brake problems.

Car in process of being modified so old discs will need to do for now.

Will buy aftermarket ones soon though.

If you modify the car ( ie more power I presume )  Audi will 100% throw out your claim. They will say the extra power will work the brakes harder.

They even threw out a claim on this forum years ago because a guy had painted his rear hubs to stop them rusting. Said something about inadequate heat transfer due to the paint.

Still waiting on Audi phoning.

Notified Audi garage in January this year.

Car wasn't remapped until Feb 3rd so got that one covered.

Think they are having Customer Service Manager phone as I had added a photo of the crash bar removed when fitting intercooler.

Looked like it had already been in an accident.
