Hi everyone
I’ve just got hold of a 2012 RS3 8p after selling my mk3 focus rs
Always been a fan of fast fords but decided to take a look into the world of Audi rs
The car I got is a totally standard model in Daytona grey with aluminium pack
And I absolutely love the way the power is delivered
Dare say I will have many a question that will need answering so look forward to the replies

Steve

It is a weapon - see what Dell & Graham have to suggest on tuning as their cars are unreal.

Wouldn’t mind the 8v key
What’s involved to get it to fit a 8p?

You need to purchase a PCB from AliExpress which has the same frequency as the 8V but the board will fit within the 8P shell.

So basically you remove the battery terminals out of this OEM 8V key and bin the rest of the board.

When the new Ali board arrives you need to solder the battery terminals onto the board making the circuit for the transponder.

Then with one of your spare 8P keys you need to transplant your ID chip and place within the new 8V key.

Then do a key count relearn with vcds.

Bit confused here - the 8p key is identical to the 8v key (and I think the 8L key as well).  I could give you a side by side photo with my Mrs 8P if you want an impossible spot the difference challenge!

My 'advanced key' 8V FL has an outdated brick of a fob with the flip out key which has nowhere to go.  Wtf is that about?  The TT has a far tidier fob for the keyless cars.

That’s incorrect if you open up the keys you will see the difference. 8P the battery holder is on the case back. The 8V the battery is on the key itself. You’ll see the issue when you open them up. I too thought the same but it doesn’t work.
