Hello guys not really new to the RS3 world but doing my first service on her,I am wondering what oil to treat her to, having coming from a s3 8p I used to use Miller's 5w40 nano drive. What do you guys recommend 5w30 or 5w40 if so what brands and links would be highly helpful thanks.
Hi Ryan.
Nothing fancy here mate Quantum 5w/30 on my 8P & a previous A3 3.2.

0W-30 Helix Ultra here mate on the first service. Why f*ck about with 5w-40? Think about cold starts and such.
The garage (obviously not Audi) charged me at cost from Opi Oils - £70 or thereabouts - Audi would pour in anything available of course and charge you £18/L.

Vag use to use 0/30 in there longlife2 then changed to 5/30 due to problems.
We don't have cold enough weather to warrant it tbh.

Yes mate I am.
I’m not gonna blow smoke up its arse but it seems to be doing the job ok.
I don’t know how the twit on moaners.net says it lowers his operating temperature by 5 deg though
Car seems to run at the same temp as when it had the Castrol Edge in it.
I like the fact though that you can contact Millers and it’s a uk company.

I had my service a few thousand ago and Quantum was used, don’t rate Quantum anymore since Castrol moved away.
I really like Millers oils and from everything I’ve read it’s very good quality. I had contemplated the 5w40 Nanodrive but think I’ll go with the 5w30 like you.
Thanks for your feedback

I spoke to Millers technical dept before taking the plunge, they recommended the 5W-30 as it carries the correct 504/507 rating for VAG vehicles. Thanks mate.

He did say if my car was remapped and running big power then the 5W-40 could be used.
I also put the Millers in our Golf 7 GTD.

Since I’m running Apr stage 1 I might give it a try, no warranty to worry about.
Always remember when we ran 5w40 on the 8P, personally I found my engine to be quieter when warm.
