2019 Navigation maps available @ MyAudi

Just noticed that the 2019 Nav maps are available...

 

I've updated my FL but when I tried to use the same files to update my wife's PFL the MMI said it couldn't find the correct file type   Wondering whether I should just try and drag the new PSF files into the folder structure that already exists? She reckons she's not that bothered with the update, but there have been a number of road improvements up here so it would be nice to get them working in the car. There again, I guess I could try and login on her account and see if the package downloads properly 

Could it be because the maps are downloaded for a specific vin so therefore not compatible with any other car?

Yes, downloaded the latest maps to my FL yesterday from the MMI using the On Line Method, nice and simple.

You can do it thru your desktop.

Download to an SD then insert into MMI and it’ll update from it.

But surely you have to pay for the service? In my Audi it just says I have the latest maps but obviously not as they are 2016.. I've heard you get 5 free map updates with the Audi connect.

Did mine the other day on my SQ5,housing estate they are building over the road for the last 2 years is still showing up as a field even tho the first stage is complete & people have moved in?.

I have a PFL with no connect, and updated my maps a couple of months back using the SD card method. It's the third one I have done since owning the car and no cost.

My Audi also changed the limit it seems, last time i did it there was a statement about 5 allowable free updates, now it says unlimited free updates. I guess I'll see next time. Which, if the 2019 maps are now available, will be when I get home from work in a few weeks.
