Unlocking issue, just a faulty fob. Result lol

Temp issue resolved, was the n492 water solined, easy way to test if faulty and easy to replace.

We finished our stage 1 remap last night. Hoping to get it on the dyno by the end of the week. So we can move to stage 2  :D

Lady c- it's been hard at times, but we purchased this 1 knowing it's a very poor example so we can learn as much about these cars in a very short time.

Love to read these build threads even though I don’t have a clue what most of this jargon is😂(google comes in handy).
By you guys on here stumbling upon problems and rectifying how you resolved the issue helps us that are not really in the know on here just how straightforward or complex this job would be if it was to happen to you👍
Nice read Ben thanks😎

It will happen soon! Just really busy atm so hard to just jump on to the RS3 and go all out. But it's going to happen soon...we have a RS3 in next week for hybrid work and custom mapping with supporting mods.

The RS3 8p project has died guys!

After buying the car and doing all the maintance to it and doing a stage 1 map, we had that 8v pfl in and I fell in love with it. So.... I sold the 8p and brought the 8v pfl ..

Not all is lost with the 8p, I have a few things in mind.

So the RS3 project thread will not die, as I will be buying a forge cooler next week for my 8v and decatting, hybrid and mapping with water meth.

I have had the RS3 8v pfl now for nearly a month.

We have had some problems with it already.

So firstly, after purchase it was clear the car was mapped, not the best I may add. So after a few days of ownership the car started to play up. Throttle cut boost lose and engine light....After inspection we found the car writing it's self back to standard and leaving a tuner protection fault code in the eeprom! Not happy to say the lease.

So my file writer got to work to resolve this, the code is now gone and two days later another fully developed stage 1 tune for the RS3. We now can tune the 8p 8v pfl and also the 8v.2.

While I was happy this problem was resolved, I went out and treated the new toy with a second hand turbo so I can hybrid this, it will be developed for over 550hp.

Also I have lowered the car on Eibach sport line springs, 5mm spacers and carbon mirrors 😍.

While I was lowering the car, I inspected the brakes as they where making a rite noise when hot. They have only covered 2k miles and all the drilled holes where blocked solid.... So out came the drill and 3 hours later we now have drilled holes nice and clear front and back... And yes 3 hours the holes on the back of the disc where also blocked and offset to the front ones 😫.

I took the car for a very hard drive tonight and no more noise when hot!! Happy days.

Once again apologies for no photos, still having issues with this side of the forum.

Another modification done to my RS3

20180929_123124_zpse470kddh.jpg

Credit to forge, well packed, great quality and fits perfectly.

If I can give any advise, the 30torx that hold the bumper on either side refit with cooper grease. As they showed very early signs of seizing.

PS I'm not sure I was meant to get my cooler within 5 days of order 😗

Hi all

We have now finished our revised version of our TTU500 spec turbocharger. This should be our final version, the unit consist of our compressor  wheel with extended tip technology made from 100% billet, we have fitted a 7 pad 360 degree thrust bearing that can handle 2bar of boost pressure. the turbine wheel has been over sized with a very slight cut back, We did not do this on our last unit as we are not a fan of such designs on petrol turbo engines. The reason we have done it this time round is to try and achieve best of both worlds, by keeping the low down power the hard mid range punch and seeing the peak figure. We have used the forge actuator again as it works better over a modified stock actuator. All machine work is done via a CNC.

20181031_135511_zpsxrn74gbc.jpg

The turbo will be fitted to my personal car with supporting mods, this time we are running a forge cooler not a evo3 like my customer did, which MRC stated this cooler let the last turbo down on peak figure due to not being so efficient, but apart from that they did state it was one of the best hybrids they have driven on the road to date.

Also the previous unit we built, is owned by a gent who gives every single motor he owns death!! it has now been on his car for over 6 months with no issues at all. He is a local guy and does pop in to the shop from time to time.

Ben
