I hear the forge cooler does a better job at keeping temps down! But do know a couple of folk running water / meth injection with good results on other cars (mk 5 golf, mk3 Ibiza etc)

Due to Wagner using tube & fin design it can make them suffer from heat sink.  :(

Forge use bar & fin which suffers less for heat sink.  :)

Im about to do an AEM kit on mines. I previously had this on my K04 gti. You will achieve intake temps below ambient and keep those valves clean as a bonus.

I quoted that by mistake! I was taking a look around last nite.

Wmi is great stuff if you know what your doing with it👌. Picking my RS3 hopefully this week, this will be 1 of my first upgrades mapped in wmi on switchable maps

I run Wagner Evo 3 FMIC and also AEM WMI 50/50 mix..

Just installed a second spray nozzle (1 x 1000cc & 1 x 500cc)

PSI controller is installed/hidden under passenger seat, i used my OEM window washer tank (had to plastic weld the bottom as they leak otherwise) and have a status LED (replaced AEM one with super bright version) hidden in air vent which activates when spaying.

Its a progressive controller, so set to start spraying at 11 PSI and full 22 PSI

My first controller was faulty, although AEM in USA were super helpful and sent me a replacement which arrived 3 days later

It gets warm in Australia and i can really feel it between 4500-6000prm

We are UK dealers for aquamist, so if any body is thinking of getting a kit. Give us a shout and I will get a discount put in place.

Anyone else running Water meth? I am looking to do this for my birthday this month, I plan to use 5 point injection into each inlet on the manifold.  I dont plan to map the car to suit since its mega money and really i just want the cooling rather than the extra BHP, Although ive heard if you get it mapped in the gains are pretty ridiculous.

Hi avroom ive used mappable Aquamist Systems on 3 cars including a supercharged car with over 600hp. Really good results and very good for your engine as additional safety. I would advise have a low level alert of some kind or a controller that has this built in. You can get great results having a fueling map you can run that takes advantage of running a water/meth at the same time.
These kits need designing for each specific set up because using multiple or single jets give various results depending on intake set ups and more importantly the boost pressures being run.
I ran a jet per cylinder with Nitrous which is always better, but easier to design as Nitrous is a gas and atomised water can go back to droplets again if not designed correctly. The best intercooler possible is the first step but I’m a big fan of water/meth and all decent drag cars run these as standard.
Looking forward to your updates on this.

Thanks Stevo

If i want to map it in the cost is crazy although i will map it in when i can get the money together. I live in Hong Kong and its is a small place and only 1 tuner can map it properly. They will charge me 2400 gbp for the mapping with TCU tune, so for now i will just fit the methanol injection into each inlet on the manifold and stick to a 50/50 mix. When im ready to get the map ill increase to 70/30. just a bit annoyed i payed so much money only a few weeks ago for my stage 2 revo tune. should have been more patient.

I should have it fitted in less than 2 weeks so will post it up.

Let's say if you are at 500hp, what gains do you get with WMI? You have to add extra boost to burn the methanol

On high powered tdi you get from 30 to 60hp depending on the tune.

Hi Mac

All my WMI cars have been petrol and I never increased the boost, even on the mapped version. Very good results and something I really want to do on mine. I agree Forge are probably the best for intercoolers on the RS3, but nothing compares to WMI.

I know it was a different car but previous ran 563hp and gained 32bhp with WMI. Not a huge amount but it dropped my intake temps by almost 50% which I felt was worth the money for peace of mind. I never tried a jet per cylinder because I already had that set up for the nitrous. I am interested to see the results on this.

Should i go through all the trouble to put direct port and 5 nozzles of 100cc in each runner or go for 1 main nozzle in the main intake manifold.

I see people using huge nozzles like 1000cc + 500cc which sounds ridiculous.

on 500hp tdi we run pure meth 250cc nozzle and gives 60hp gains. (11.1s /402m car)

We always run pure meth but much smaller nozzle. They advised me 450cc nozzle for 2.0 tdi engine which is absurd.

individual port is always best largely because most cars dont have equal distribution in the intake manifold. Like you say its a pain in the bum and almost doubles the cost in labour. Most important thing also is you then also need 5x everything including check valves seen some nasty results where people just use 1 upstream and the injectors still drip after the meth cuts. I settled in the end for one 500cc on a 70/30 on the elbow. My friend with a TTRS has a stronger turbo than mine and he can utilise a 1000cc injector in the same spot. He makes 40 more bhp than me despite our cars being identical thats not from the meth its because my actuator is goosed but its shows if you can keep your boost up you can utilise more.

The size of your injector is really down to how hot is it, how good is your fuel what is your tuners skill / experience at pushing the methanol. For me if i run out of meth i gotta keep off boost since its factored into my tune that it will always be there. I usually buy 3 months supply at a time though. I have the AEM kit which is boost controlled. I can use about 4-5L of 70/30 per 2 tanks of fuel i drive normally. I can also use that much in about 1.5 hrs if i drive at max attack.

My intake temps rise up to about 45 then plateau as the meth does its magic its pretty cool to watch on a logger as you see other cars temps spike over a spirited drive but yours just stay flat. Bare in mind its rarely below 30 deg C and 80% humidity where i live between April and Nov.

The most ive seen a stock turbod 2012 TTRS run is 480 BHP @ 1.2 bar on meth and also meth in tank (race fuel). my car runs 440 @ 1 bar my actuator wont hold more than that.

Since we dont have a 1/4 mile all the experience i have with meth be it 1st hand or through friends is on a 70/30 or 50/50 mix. would be interesting to see a 100% car. Like you say cant imagine you need more than 250cc injector though.

On diesel we always use pure meth due to better atomisation than combined to water, thats why we go down with nozzle.

3.0 tdi on 3 bar boost uses 250cc nozzle 100% meth (560hp on dynojet) accurate dyno.

So probably will go for 1 nozzle in the beginning without altering the actual tune for it.

Water meth is best at keeping consistent power, gains can be great. Even if at 500hp and get an extra 30hp. The difference will be your 500hp will die off after a few pulls, a 530hp Water meth car will be 530hp 3 hours later on a track. This is where water meth comes into its own.

So On a 50/50 mix would it be better to do a jet per cylinder in the intake?

Has anyone run 5 jets and if so where were they positioned?
