I’ve had 2 RS 3 (8V’s) now and wouldn’t have one without Mag Ride or Sports Exhaust.
Must have options in my opinion.

Just as well I joined the forum before picking the add ons or I probably would not have gone for mag ride.

How did you manage that? In the UK you only got the exhaust with the mag ride.

Before the sports pack was announced you could spec sports exhaust and mag ride as separate items.

1k each.

Then they bundled them together with active TPMS for £1700.

Ah I meant PFL of course, so they split it out on the FL then?

Yes for the first few months......

Then they announced a 'bundle' at a cheaper cost......

You'll remember from another 'owners club' a lot of 'debate' around it, mainly from people who felt aggrieved Audi had diddled them out of something

I ordered mine a week ago and the dealer said I could have still bought it in the pack or separate. I don’t get why they can split some things and not others? I wanted push button start and ended up paying £1000 because it is only available in a pack with the uprated sound system.

61 plate RS3 ride really harsh, recently upgraded car to 16 plate to include dynamic pack, so mag ride an option - sooooooo much better being able to soften or harden ride ....... A must have IMO (plus sports exhaust )

I tried both before buying, I felt that the non-mag car handled better (more natural, less bouncy) but the mag car was definitely more comfortable.

I'm in process of speccing up my RS3 saloon and am considering mag ride. I'm just not sure if it should be first on my option list, mid way or last if budget allows. What's the feeling on this one? Is a pano roof or the rs pack more important?

if your after comfort dont buy a RS3!! Simple, i would spend that money on other mods

I know this is a very individual choice but I bought mag and love it. Dynamic is definitely firm enough for decent handling and comfort is great for when the family are in the car. It stops the misses moaning and rides the poor road surfaces better. I did wonder how long my track suspension would have lasted on my R compared to mag because it was cringy sometimes when going over unavoidable pot holes.
If you are intending to do lots of track days then you could save your money for coilovers if you don’t mind hard suspension and are not warranty driven.

Comfort when you want it.........

Hooligan when pushing on

Best of both worlds, I'd say you can buy an RS3 for comfort and the other stuff...... :)

I have always been a supporter of Mag Ride, however I had a test drive yesterday morning in a FL (beautiful catalunya red with black pack) which did not have MG and was surprised at how good the suspension was. It felt better than my 8v with MG and MSS springs! There are 2 caveats to that last statement - (1) the test drive was not very extensive but did involve some crappy London roads with speed bumps, and (2) I've been concerened for a while about my 8v suspension set up - yes the MR was recalibrated after MSS fitted, but it was by Audi so who knows?!

Anyway, I have the MG as one of the options on my new FL, yet to be delivered.

Two things Tippytoes,
Great you liked the colour combo as that's what I've ordered in the saloon and , also, I didn't order magnetic ride. Happy to hear your thoughts driving one without it!

Yes it made me think twice about MG and whether to cancel on my order (build not due for another 2 weeks) - it also made me think about cancelling order altogether & buying the catalunya red/black pack test car, but it had a pano roof which is a no no for me and didn't have matrix lighting or electric seats.
