I am looking at replacing the rear ARB with an uprated item. I know that quite a few 8P owners have carried out this mod to their cars with good results but is there anyone with an 8V that has done this upgrade?

A search of the internet does not reveal too many ARB options listed for the 8V, I have found that H & R do a front and rear kit (at £360) but I only want the rear ARB (by fitting the front one it apparently re-introduces the understeer characteristics).

As far as I can see there isn't a rear only ARB for an 8V yet ?
Not sure if 034 have finished testing theirs yet either.

Couldn't you just put the front ARB on the softest setting and stiffen up the rear (oooh Matron)

RS3 8V FL - bone stock...for now.

RS3 8V - eTuners Stage 3 480hp.

It did cross my mind but I thought that some other forum members may have sourced just the rear one from somewhere. Probably will contact H & R to find out if nothing else turns up. Last resort will be to buy the front and rear kit and just fit the rear.

Its underneath at the back!    (sorry couldn't resist it!)

AudiS4 PM'ed me earlier and said it works well - by that I assume he means it helps to dial out understeer. Be good if he can confirm for the forum.

It's strange how there aren't many Roll bar options for the 8V.

You'd think they would have been quicker off the mark with them.

All 034 say is that they are 'testing' theirs......

Maybe an idea to get a shift on before the mk 3 is launched

Does the bar affect comfort? Is it adjustable, normally H&R are adjustable.

I recall the updated bars on the R32 affected ride comfort.

If I can get hold of one thats not a crazy price, I will fit it and let you know how I get on. Lots of good feedback from the MK1 guys so I am hoping for a similar result for the 8V.

i can confirm that it alleviates most of the under steer, as you come out of the corner on the exelartor the nose stays planted while the back end steps out slightly, it has a feel of a rear wheel drive , i will be doing a 250km trip next week in the highlands of NSW (aus), will post my thoughts on the H&R rear bar mod

James, the bar is not adjustable, its strait swap, the H&R bar is thicker and heavier then the OME, regarding your first question i have not noticed any change in the ride comfort so far.

I've been speaking to Glenn at Revolution about the H&R ARB.......

He's coming back to me about 'other' ARB options for the 8V  ;)

No one mentioned Coilovers though

They are a forum sponsor so I'd imagine they'd offer a fair deal on whatever Glenn comes up with......
