I am planning on coilovers at some point but only ones that can link to the settings for my current Magride. Any views on these:

Only two makes of coilover I would ever use, KW and Bilstein. I think the KW acts as a standalone through the app and does not integrate so you are left with the Bilstein.  :up_it:

I spoke to Bilstein and they no longer do the model that plugs into the ecu, probably just down to demand. They have one with some functions that can but oddly does not work if the car has mag ride already. The advisor has no idea why not and suggested to forget any of their plug in units as support will probably come to an end soon.

I would like coil overs but would want to keep the control settings. I have found the mag ride with the adjustable height springs to be a good drive in dynamic, so maybe I will still to them unless I find exactly what I want.

Hi Dell, are they stand alone or do they link to the ecu?

Mines an 8P which don't come with Magride but on the 8v their standalone & if Magride is fitted Ohlins supply delete modules.

The main reason I posted this is some people have done away with the Magride to go standalone.

I spoke to KW and they have a variant 3 which links to the wiring but still uses a separate button to change the settings. They are looking at a fully integrated version but it won't be out until next year and would be around £4k. I think I will wait and see how it drives with the new bushes, dog bone, wheels/tyres and sub frame.

Sorry I'm obviously talking bXXXox again, there are three makes of coilover I would fit KW, Bilstein and Ohlins.

Tbh Ohlins don't normally come to most people's mine's as they not main stream enough & more track focus......Do work great on the road tho 😊

Lol, I actually had someone ask me the other day should they buy some new Ohlins for their RS.
I did think about pointing them this way, then I remembered your attitude toward me about the alloys.

So I kept stum…………

My attitude? You were being an unhelpful prick for no reason (and now doubling down). Such a hero. "Stum" isn't even a word, you clown.

edit: smarmy wasn't the right word
