Well I’m glad you aren’t posting again that’s a god send.

I am an up front guy and don’t like all the back stabbing hence saying I’d be happy to say anything I had to say to your face. You were not trying to warn me at all so your comment is crap. You only had to pm me and say let’s have a chat. All you have done is every now and then posted cryptic type comments about my build after me telling you to pack it in because it’s not warranted.

The 8p guy should have took his car back if he wasn’t happy and put the ball in their court. You can’t comment on his engine not needing rebuilding as you didn’t see it apart. Anyway I’m only fussed about my build and I’ve been using Regal for over 25 years without issue. They have built hundreds of cars and have a good reputation down here.

Popped down to see the progress and got to see the Verkline subframe and wishbones all fitted:
First picture is the original one and the others showing the new one. I couldn’t believe how slimmed down it is in comparison.

The new WMI controller is now wired in with 2 digital fast acting solenoids and a distribution unit that everything plugs into. Luckily I can keep the Snows display to show boost and bottle level due to multiple Can inputs. Not sure what else will be displayed but it’s being connected to the P3 gauge also. The picture below shows a graph of how the 3D map works:

Regal have just updated their dyno software and had some service parts fitted. Today the final comms wire was installed and in the morning Torqbyte will be sending over a base map for the WMI and then the mapping can be finished off. Once that’s done there are only the body parts left to fit which will be done in half a day.

Proof is in the pudding as they say, so very soon I’ll be able to get back to driving it.

Just found out that the 3D water/meth map is a bespoke map and not a base map like I thought. Pretty simple, they send the logs over for the last dyno run and Torqbyte send a file back. Once the final ecu mapping is complete the logs are sent again and they will decide if it needs any tweaks or not.
Hopefully I will get to see how the mapping has gone tomorrow and when I can collect it.

Thought you weren’t posting on my thread anymore Ben?

Cars going well. Something in the pipeline which hasn’t been done on an RS3 yet so update coming soon.

By the way Ben I’m still waiting to see your top secret hardware list and dyno printout for your stage 3 FL. you must have finished it by now if you have time to troll me again. :-)

If they behave anything like you I would believe grown men telling stories, You guy cant get away from taking a dig at other tuning outlets, has no one ever told you shitting on competition is a poor showing. Christ your not even competition really.

Hope all is going well Stu, cant be far from the finish line now!

Hi mate,

It suffered an injector issue which is being sorted out at the moment. I won't post anymore updates on my thread until everything is complete because no matter what I post it will be wrong. Shame as I am used to open forums who help each other, but some are a bit clicky. All I can say is I am happy with the way the issue is being dealt with and have full confidence in the tuner.

Thanks for the supportive message.

This platform is the most toxic I have ever known, no one wants anyone to succeed or build anything decent. So much secret squirrel crap goes on makes me think I am back at high school, I wish you the best in your build and hope you kick ass with it.

Thanks Rooferman.
It is getting there and I’m confident it will be finished soon.

22 years ago I decided to supercharge a 3.0 V6 406 Coupe and was told by multiple tuners it couldn’t be done or wouldn’t produce the 500hp I wanted. In the end the highest figure was over 540hp without the 200hp of NOS and was the Worlds most powerful road legal Peugeot.

I’ve been learning a lot over this build and will be glad to share the good and bad points so others can benefit from them.

Ok now my thread is back on track I’ll explain where I am. As I said one of my original direct injectors went faulty. This caused the cylinder to get hot and the dripping injector caused combustion between the points of ignition. I’ve seen the videos of the injector tests and I’m happy it was no ones fault.
Regal have agreed I would get my car back complete and running perfectly, agreeing to rectify everything which in my book is very honourable, especially considering how other known tuners have made every excuse possible to get out of paying for issues.

My car did not blow up but suffered pitting on top of the nearest cylinder to the air intake due to overheating and a slight mark in the bore. Currently the engine is out and taken apart which sucks because the original build was perfect. To save any other issues all 5 of the original injectors are being replaced along with the block, pistons, bolts, gaskets etc.I have also decided to have a new oil pump fitted whilst it’s apart.

Whilst waiting for the block to arrive I decided to make some changes to my build including selling the TTE777 turbo. I haven’t got the data for IAT since fitting the direct injection WMI but I can say it was high over 2 bar even before the injector fault whilst running in the engine. We are now going to run a SRM cast stainless steel manifold with a Garrett GTX3584RS mid frame turbo. It’s a compromise between virtually no lag using a hybrid and the lag associated with a large frame turbo. With this set up I will be buying a TurboSmart electronic wastegate and blow off valve. This means no wastegate rattle to map out and according to Garrett technical no compressor stalling due to pressure build up.

I bought a pair of motorised cut outs a while ago from Kindig Customs in the US and they have finally arrived. I have just handed over the front section of the exhaust that joins the down pipe to my tig welder mate. He’s going to cut out the holes and weld on the adaptors. I’ve also asked him to remove the cat core so at least from below it looks like I still have one.

The other big change is Im having a Syvecs ecu fitted with a flexi fuel sensor. This can control the WMI and electronic wastegate. The wastegate control means no relying on air pressure from the turbo or springs to control boost. We have decided to get the tune done at RaceCal in London because Syvecs said they are the best in the UK on this system. Regal could do the tune but have not tuned any RS3s with Syvecs yet are are agreed it will speed things up.

So there we have it, my build is back on track and I’m happy with the new direction it is going.

Well, as they say, out of adversity comes opportunity and it makes sense to look at things again.

I have had quite a few injectors that have been professionally cleaned and tested leak or dribble when fitted, not as much of a problem on the older engines I generally work on but does not surprise me.

Expensive, but Syvecs seems to be the way to go when you start down this rabbit hole. You seem to be able to get safetys put in that the OEM system can only dream of. Worth the cost IMHO

Would the costs of a replacement block not be similar to getting the existing one sleeved? Not strictly necessary at your power level but it is creeping up with the new turbo and with Syvecs in play wouldn't it be some good insurance?

Is the 34RS plug an play on the SRM manifold? I know it could take up to the 82R but I read the 34RS is not backwards compatible, just wondering if it was an easy job? very nice manifold though, looked at it before but having enough trouble getting stage 1 on mine

Best of luck with it, will be better in the end  :up_it:

SRM sell the kits with their own version of several Garrett and IMS type turbos. The kit is a straight bolt in job and to fit the RS turbo you just have to specify it upon order.

I agree there are lots of safety features not on the standard ecu that are good for high hp builds. I really liked the idea of controlling the WMI and wastegate. I have something else being developed which will be fitted next year that will also be controlled by the Syvecs which I don't believe has been done on an RS3 yet.

Well they say builds can be testing and I can only agree on this. Looks like the SRM manifold is not going to happen with not even a reply from several emails for a long time, with no initial lead time provided. After reading a thread where someone waited 5 months before giving up for their parts I have decided to look elsewhere.

There are several big turbo options but either they are above what I want to run or the lead times are horrendous, one showing a lead time of 51 weeks.

So I have decided to go back to the hybrid route and exchange my TTE777 for a TTE 855: Ordered and mine being sent back today.

TTE855 Audi CZGB / CEPA TTRS / RS3 8V 2.5 TFSI UPGRADE TURBOCHARGER | TTE Global | Performance Motorsport Parts

I know hybrids make more heat which was a concern but I am hoping the direct port WMI and no cat will help. I also have a really good cooling method which I will be installing later this year that will drop temps down dramatically.

Now I have the Syvecs, flex fuel, IROZ lpfp and uprated fuel lines I can at least have a decent track map and by the look of the results so far it has very low spool and pulling some decent numbers. I am hoping my 99 tune with WMI will be similar to their 102 results but lets see. Pretty impressive over 400nm at 2500.

I am now just waiting for a TTE855 to arrive, which will probably be another 3 weeks. Everything else should be ready with the built engine sat there waiting for the turbo to go on before installing.
I’ve gone for Injector Dynamics ID1050X injectors and their F750 fuel filter. I’m impressed with not one the build quality but the gauge which show when it needs servicing. So easy, when I check the oil I can check the filter at the same time. Ideal for knowing if you have a batch of dirty fuel from the bottom of someone’s tank.

Thanks Buchrs3 appreciated.

It’s booked for tuning by Romaine at RaceCal. I’m in Southampton so not a million miles from me. They have been really good on the communication as well and I’ve had good feedback from a couple of Syvecs car owners.
The TVS stage 4 is being done by Peron and due to Charlie’s kind offer he is sending the equipment to Regal to do the uploads and send the logs back for changes.

Awesome. Hope it all goes good mate. I first chose romain also but didn't have enough data for him on rs3s..
So went for stijn recommended by other RS3
owners..

Will you be attending any pod events.

Interesting you went for the id1050s....im still good with the 980cc but will probably upgrade to
Id1300s later on..
