Has anyone fitted 20 inch wheels yet on their saloon?

Would 235/30/20 and 255/30/20 fit or maybe just 235/30/20 all round. I know the better is now 255 on the front, but I'm thinking it might be ok with a really good compound tyre a 20 inch wheel. Saying that does anyone know of issues with 20s because I haven't noticed any with them?

Currently I run my Scirocco on 235/30/20 with no issues but I do have the VWR coilovers.

After reading lots of your posts I think 20s are probably not happening so I think I will continue to search for decent aftermarket wheels.

Vossen produce some stunning wheels that look great on the RS3 as do HRE, but they don't come cheap.

Whats is it all about the fitting of 20" wheels ?  :(

You get a harsher ride & not pot hole friendly due to the very low profile  :(

I’ve have 20s on my Scirocco R which look really good. I have 235/30/20 tyres so the same profile as the uprated wheels offered on new models. I have coil overs so have adjusted them not to be too harsh. Well they were like no suspension but now hard.

I’ve gone off the 20s after reading the performance benifits of the reduced weight for performance and handling. It was very interesting reading about unsprung weight and lost energy in order to spin heavier wheels.

So 19 inch OZ lightweight wheels are still at the top of my list.

I'm guessing the 20" OZ wheels will be:

a. more expensive for both wheels and tyres

b. heavier

c. more harsh given reduced tyre profile and probably more prone to kerbing

d. less pothole friendly

than their 19" OZ stablemates.

Given the roads in the UK, I'd stick with 19" wheels every day.

Got an great offer to buy OEM 19" 245/35/19 Audi TTRS "RS6 "rims, know that we are talking about optimal is 8-8.5J. But on the TTRS rim it's 9J ... what do you think? Will it hit inner suspension strut ? ET is 52 but if I insert spacers 10mm it has the same ET42 as original saloon.

Have looked at Willitfit and in theory it works but think it's very tight ... it will poke out 12,7mm and 12,7mm closer to suspension strut.

Have seen that the Audi S3 saloon that people have put your 9J rims without rubbing. But does the S3 have different wheel hub dimensions that make it work?

As I suspected. Too bad I got a good deal on it and I want original RS6 design wheels.

drgav2005 - a 20 inch OZ is still only 9.5kg, so way light than Audi OEM 19 wheels. As far as profiles, if you get the staggered set up the from wheels are 30 profile and the fronts take most of the hits.

I would still consider 245/30/20 OZs but I just don't think the 245 will fit in the rear without hitting. 20's start at 8.5 width and not 8.0 like the 19s so you cant really have 235 on the rear without the rims being very exposed. They fit but 245 are best.

Alex_m - sorry to hear they won't fit and even if the rims fitted you would need 255 tyres which are a 'no hope' on the back. Would have looked great, especially original Audi rims.

Hi Fivepotfan - I have emailed Milltek a week ago asking for more info and they have not replied.

Sorry for some reason I cannot see your images because it says I don't have the correct permission?

Sorry about the pics, something has gone a bit weird with the uploading. I can see them but they dont seem to let others open the files. The editing tool wont even allow me to delete them and upload some different pics.
