What cost for 410ps? 2016 RS3

What do you mean with thats not much left in the standard turbo? If you do a stage 1 430bhp 630Nm and change the IC to say a forge IC then you will lower the temp or is it something else that can go wrong?

 

With a custom map & this set up you can have around 450ps & 700Nm  Standard 365/390ps & 450Nm !

As TX says it doesn't matter if it's in manual or Sport, but don't forget that each time you start the car you need to scroll back to dynamic mode even if you switched the car off in dynamic mode to get the full dynamic effect.

Rather than use the Drive Select button you can configure the * button on your steering wheel for convenience.

This has been covered before. You don`t need to scroll through to get back to dynamic.Just have your MMI screen pop up with the 4 different modes showing then if you were in dynamic last time out just one press of the button puts it back into dynamic. .

From a stage one map that is some very impressive figures especially the torque increase. When I see results like this makes me want to delve into the word of mapping the car.

Yes a good all round egg & he put up with my verbal diarrhoea while driving him from Reading & back to the Audi Drivers Day at Castle Combe 😂

What I mean is if you go on what is claimed about these cars making approx 390 as standard then there’s only a limited amount of peak power left to unlock on the standard turbo. The stock turbo seems good for between 430-440bhp.

IME it’s wise to look at delta gains from before and after runs (and times) rather than basing gains against stock manufacturers stated outputs.

Oh and above all don’t get too hung up on figures - just enjoy the car!

No one i know who's had a custom mapping done have based there out come figure against the manufacturers one's !

 

There have always been against there own base run figures as every car can run differently as so the out come ones !

Bollox to that t800 no Audi tech is going near it mate

Be careful then if you have an Audi place service it. I am sure that I never had to change my drive settings, but when I got the car back from its first service, the sound was totally different and I had to scroll though the sets to get back the sound I had before. Now, it might just be me and I could be wrong, but I am sure they downloaded some updated software in mine...

Hi Hal, the car is not going near any Audi dealerships mate, will let the warranty expire and if I can’t fix the fault will find a specialist who can should anything drastic happens🤞, oil changes and general service work I will do myself so at least I know it’s been done

Hal. That would have just been the exhaust software update. You should have to cycle through modes and it shouldnt start back up in your last mode you was in. I believe this is what the update was for as some cars were starting back up in the last mode they were in

The car running 670ps was a project car with a big turbo conversion which was tuned by MRC and various other tuning goodies added. However, it was running standard internals which is a bit of a gamble when taking the engine above 600ps (the recommended start point for uprated pistons and rods).

 

If you want to see what can be acheived with the iron block engine and the latest developments with the new alloy engine, take a look at Iroz Motorsport. Some of their conversions go to over 850+ps  :o
