The car running 670ps was a project car with a big turbo conversion which was tuned by MRC and various other tuning goodies added. However, it was running standard internals which is a bit of a gamble when taking the engine above 600ps (the recommended start point for uprated pistons and rods).

If you want to see what can be acheived with the iron block engine and the latest developments with the new alloy engine, take a look at Iroz Motorsport. Some of their conversions go to over 850+ps :o

Thank you very much, will have a read in a minute! Just looking through peoples posts to see what mods people have done! Hoping to come across an aftermarket wheel topic

Fwiw i have trapped nearly 123mph in 1600da on the prefl stock turbo. That's over 500hp.

That is using a pump fuel in australia but i believe you don't have e85 on pump over there, so it would need to be a race fuel.

So there is plenty in the stock turbo if you go looking for it. :)

How is this possible?. In the UK most tuners such as APR and MRC are struggling to get over 435-445hp on the stock turbo. That's with 99RON fuel, and stage 2 hardware IC, HPFP and Exhaust mods.

We don't really know.

Obviously the fuel plays a big part but i promise you its a completely stock turbo in a 2016 prefl RS3.

Mods are the usual stage 2.

Hg intake pipe/k&n filter
Autotech hpfp upgrade
Custom downpipe/midpipes
Wager intercooler
Etuners e85 ecu and dsg tunes.

Car made 200awkw stock and made 308awkw on the same dyno. 145whp gain is a LOT. It feels that much though. So its making somewhere between 390 and 405kw at the crank. Which is well over 500hp.

The trap speed of 121.5 to 122.8mph with a 11.33et which i ran at the track backs up those hp numbers especially in our hot summer air.

As it sits i think it will trap 125mph with some wr in winter air and thats enough to run a 10. Which we didn't think would be possible on the stock turbo but i believe its very possible now in good conditions.

e38 is basically racefuel so its like us running our cars on sunaco 109 gt plus all the time which would get you to about 480 ps on standard turbo. I’m going to try some this year purely for 1/4 mile runs.Doug at MRC reckons these engines love racefuel as there is still plenty of head room in the timing even at stage 2!

Just been on that site and saw the 1000hp turbo kit 😳
Now I wonder what they or IE could do with the new engine?

My tuner agrees. We made over 50hp increase across the rev range on the same boost from the fuel switch.

Its 107ron

I had to google e85 and was quite interested how they make this fuel with corn, impressed me anyway.

You can buy E85 in the UK at selected places:

Attacks rubber etc though so perhaps upgraded fuel lines etc needed? Was sold in some supermarkets for a while (pump fuel) although seems to have gone the way of the Dodo now!

Did your tuner notice any improvements with the intake fitted? I have the exact intake and air filter as you but haven’t had a chance to get it checked by my tuner yet!

Hi all, excited newbie here, just bought an 2016 RS3 Daytona Grey in West Sussex, South East.

Just wondering how much in cost and wheres the best place to achieve approx 410ps?

My car history so far... Clio Williams - >Clio172 -> Boxster -> TVR T350T -> Lotus Exige S -> 911 2S -> Lotus Exige V6 -> Audi RS3

many thanks in advance

Whats the point in voiding your warranty for 10-20 hp? Might regret it when you get presented with a bill for 18k when the engine goes pop. If you are going to void your warranty you may as well go big or go home.

Current cars: Audi RS3 8V and BMW M235i convertible.

Gone but not forgotten: BMW M135i, Audi S3 8P, Gen 2 Mini Cooper JCW, Gen 2 Mini Cooper S, Alfa Romeo Spider V6, Mk5 Golf R32, Honda Civic Type R FN2, Ford Focus ST, Honda Civic Type R EP3.

just too add, that project car has now been put back to standard and the buyer lives near me, hope its ok as its been pulled about so much!
