Alex - can you confirm what the wheel width is on your PFL 5 spokes that fit on your FL saloon please?

Seventeenapg - are Hartmann saying that you can fit an 8.5 ET 38 wheel with a 245/35 tyre on a FL saloon (front and rear)?

I think Alex's wheel is 8J from PFSB and he is putting on FLS with 10mn spacers.
Hartmann told me that the wheel/tyre combo in the picture of their Ara blue is their 8.5j wheel with ET 38 and 245/35 rubber, back and front. They said it was for photo shoot and didn't know if there was on the road rubbing. I am getting closer and closer to ordering these tho from France. I prefer the gloss black but don't like to have to fit plastic bore fillers, the hub size is too big on the French ones.

Great idea, because if they are good I can go for the same sizes. Just checked and 245/30/20 are almost the same size as 245/35/19.

You can buy metal spigot rings to fit from eBay pretty cheaply:

The last 2 cars I have had used plastic spigot rings, one supplied from the wheel manufacturer and one from the alloy wheel supplier. In 6 years of driving I have not had a problem, but would be interested to know if anyone else has bad experiences?

I used the plastic spigot rings LDPrestige sent with their wheels, however soon after I found some Ali rings and switched to them.

At least with the plastic spigot rings you don't have to copper slip the wheel spigot as you do with alloy wheels/spigot rings  :(

But i can understand why people don't like the plastic one's & fit alloy one's.

Dell.

Well, if the plastic are safe enough I will use those supplied by LDPrestige.

I know its a big ask but would it be possible for someone who has the standard 8J ET42 wheels measure the distance between front strut/rear shock and tyre wall and wheel rim edge? In that way we can work out if 245 tyres will fit on 8.5j rims.

Well I’m pretty convinced now after all the forums I’ve been on that 245s will not go on the back and the best choices we have are:

19s - OEM staggered
Rear - 235/35/19 on 8.0 wheel ET42
Front - 255/30/19 on 8.5 wheel ET46

For 20s a safe fit is:
Rear - 235/30/20 on 8.0 wheel ET 42
Front - 245/30/20 on 8.5 wheel ET 46

This is actually a better overall fit that having the 255/30/19 in the OEM staggered set up.

It would be interesting to hear what the actual drops are front and rear for some lowering spring options compared to their claims. The OEM staggered set up gives a smaller diameter and increases the wheel arch gap, so would benefit from a bigger drop as opposed to the 20s set up.

Sorry I forgot to say if anyone finds out if a 9.0 wheel would fit the front the on the OEM staggered set up a closer diameter fit would be to use a 265/30/19 on the front.
