Hi All,

New member here. I've got a 17 plate RS3 in Nardo Grey on the way, hopefully ready for collection in January, maybe December.

I'll be searching around the forums for a bit anyways

Cheers,

James

Cheers,

The RS3 is definitely a pricey car! I've only managed a couple of extras -

Super sports seats,

Privacy Glass (Audi's expensive way of tinting your windows)

RS Sports exhaust

I was considering Magnetic Ride but not sure if I could foot the bill for it..

The Virtual Cockpit comes at standard though which is a selling point for me

I know you have to draw the line somewhere, but if you can stretch to it the Mag Ride is definitely worth the investment.

I'll have to read a bit more about it. I'm in that position where I knew the car I was buying, so magnetic ride would just be another plus but not completely necessary. But I assume it would be nice for town driving.

I've heard rumours about the infamous Nardo hunter. Believe me, my first colour choice was black, but Audi's not scraping the pennies from me just to have metallic paint! Settled for Nardo, and didn't look too bad in person, but it's a "to each their own thing" really..

Stick with it, save 600 quid towards mag ride and realise the nardophobes are few and far between

Welcome James, did you order saloon or hatchback?

As for 'colour other than Nardo' & mag ride both are fundamental and important - if Nardo tickles your fancy, then fair enough, but if you don't want your 'fancies' vibrating & bouncing about then I highly recommend getting mag ride for all roads which are not level smooth tarmac finished (i.e. most).

So that's another improvement to the previous models = are all the pluss bits adding up in favour for the FL?

Many thanks,

I went for the Hatchback. I've grown to like Nardo, although it wasn't my first choice, it certainly wasn't my last. To be honest, I was considering scrapping the sports exhaust and putting on Mag Ride / Black Pack. Either way, I didn't really deem any of them necessary at the time of purchase.

I could still 'spec-amend' either onto my order, but there's also the question of the changes on payments. Might have to read more reviews on the Mag Ride before I can make a definitive decision. Opinions from people who have driven with Mag Ride definitely help in making a decision.

Appreciate that! I haven't had the chance to drive the FL yet so hearing that puts my bank balance at greater ease.

It's a great car just like the PFL. Imho not enough changes to warrant me to switch however those with no old RS3 will love it no doubt.

Personally the first thing I would spec on a car would be  "exclusive paint"

Why be in a great car with a crap colour ?

If your spending £50,000 OR  MORE  of your hard earned, I would want it in a colour that I want not one that "will do" .

To me its the first thing people notice of any car , they say ,, the Red polo or the Blue ford etc etc

still as you say each to their own , off to clean my Black Audi  :)

Couldn't agree more mate. In fact I would rather compromise on other things rather than compromise on the colour.

I've narrowed my next colour down to two colours now, both exclusive. Did have 3 possible on the list, but crossed one of them out after seeing it at RS3 Fest last weekend.

Hi

Newbie to the website,

Ordered my RS3 in August and just picked up last week.

Mythos Black
Black styling pack
Privacy glass
Sports exhaust
B & O stereo
Super sports seats.

Love it already, trying to hold back a little as only done 48 miles when I picked up and don’t want to floor it too much but the sensation of acceleration better than I can remember it was in B8 RS4.

Can anyone help with how to keep the exhaust in noisy mode?? After starting the engine I go into drive select and re-select Dynamic and exhaust note changes to louder but then goes quiet when gearbox in D mode but loud again if switch to S mode. Is it tough luck that it goes quiet in D mode and just need to drive like I stole it??

Thanks guys.

At idle S just raises the revs so is louder of course. S holds the revs longer though when giving it some.
