hi all

the yellow emission control light has come up on the car and sometimes the car doesn't start and when it does its sounds a bit lumpy and I have to rev it up to stop it from stalling

anyone got any ideas on what this is?

thanks

I would limit driving or taking it very easy if you do have to before you get it scanned and diagnosed with those symptoms mate

Have you gone really low on fuel before? I know that can cause the car to run rich which could lead to serious issues = engine

Nath.

Went the RAC checked the ECU one would think it show an O2 fault not a high fuel pressure one ?  ^_^

I understand the fuel rail pressure sensor on the 8v can be troublesome but dont know about our 8P  :(

But i can see were you coming from mate  :)

I forgot about castle coombe this weekend

the car drives fine and it has been like it for a while, the rac bloke who came out to the car says its all fine and I can drive it how I like

might need the map tweaked a bit so it stops the warning lights coming up

I had a mapped turbo car a long time back and was told the emission light would come on at times, seems to happen when your car is telling the computer something it doesn't understand. So, basically, it could be a case of "computer says - no!".

If it drives ok and you can find no other issues then it might only be a huffy ECU.

High pressure fuel pump on its way out?  My car did the same with a loba pump.
