I am needing to fit spacers in order to fit the new brake setup behind the wheels. I have purchased the spacers and am now onto the extended wheel bolts...

Can anyone recommend some good ones I am looking for 35mm long that is if I am right in saying the standard ones are 25mm long?

Can anyone recommend a type of locking wheel nut?

If standard alloys then Radius seat bolts

McGard locking bolts are popular choice

What brake setup you thinking of running that requires you to use spacers?

I’m assuming we are talking the 8pots then as these do require a 5mm spacer if I remember.

I am going to be running the Ap racing Radicals... (the same as you but in black)

But i am running the standard 8j wide wheels, and from what you have said I think it might be too close for comfort so going to run spacers to give me some room.

Trying to get them on in time for this weekend!!

You may be okay as long as you can get them balanced properly. I just didn't have the patience at the time which in the long run has cost me faffing with wheels & tyres to ultimately come back to 19s albeit a better setup now. I'd rather run without spacers if you have the choice but if that's the route you want to go then give it a shot

I have only bought them as a backup if things are too tight.

Because you were running the 8V alloys and they are 8J x 19 ET46 and I believe the 8P is 8J x 19 x ET50 so they are 4mm closer to the hubs on the 8p alloys.

The 8V 8J are ET 49

The 8V are ET49 on the 8J rim

Roughly can you remember how close the caliber was to catching the inside of the alloy and the spokes?

The balancing weight needs to be as close to the spoke as possible. Depending on how good your rims are they may be able cut the weight length wise and counter balance it so the majority of the weight is on the inside edge (opposite edge from the spokes). It was really close like rizla paper close.

Oh wow that is f#cking close....  I didn't think it was going to be that tight for space....

Are the alloys your running currently that close too?

Wider fronts 8.5J so more space to get a wheel weight on.

Obviously the picture doesn't really show you the spoke clearance from the calliper but that's the balancing issue along with the thickness of the weight and location is an important factor to consider
