Bare with me on this one. I'll do my best to explain my issue. On starting the car it starts as normal but there is an associated metal scraping noise. I relate it to something like a stone caught between a pulley and a thin metal plate. Unfortunately it's intermittent. It may not do it for days. To stop this noise i press the aircon button, this gives a loud vacuum switch sucking noise then alls good, with the red button illuminating as it should. If i start the car and there is no scraping noise and i press the aircon button, the red on light comes on as it should do with no noises at all. If I rev slightly when the scraping noise is there, I get strange crunching noises and what sound like a rubber belt scraping. I hope this garble has made sense to someone. And I'm not the only one it's happening to. I have a vid but it's too large to post.

I have the same problem mate and Audi are yet to figure out what the problem is. It doesn't seem to cause an actual issue other than a noise and luckily it does not seem to be metallic wear and seems to be gas/fluid. See the link below to the thread on ****-***** which has a video of my own. So far it has had a new air con pump which did nothing, but it seems to me that its a valve that's. Mine works perfectly fine other than the strange noise and its been in 4-5 times for the same issue. Due to the noise being inaudible outside the car its impossible to fault find.

I'm on the other site too mate. Been talking with you. Txv valve is the next port of call. Although Sutherland m power cars refuses to change it under warranty. He said it's completely normal. I beg to differ as only you and me out of dozens of other owners don't have this issue. Had the car three months and 1 of those months they've had it.
