Has anyone successfully disengaged the exhaust flaps so the car is just bonkers loud all the time and not just above 3000 revs?

Is it the exhaust valves fully open and the secondary de-cats installed that give some of them i've heard on you tube that extra popping, some even seem to get it on lift off rather than gear change?  Or is that from being tuned up?

It's louder but only as in you get full sound levels all the time. Don't forget the valves open anyway in 2nd onwards, when gunning it. In 1st they're open all the time.

Disconnected valves just mean that they're open all the time everytime.

I've just gone full decat now with the dp, and my valves are disconnected. Not sure how much louder it will be, but I'll find out in due course.

Straight forward installation. It's a plug n play unit

Went onto ASR's website do you know which one I need? They have lots of options all in German.

Thats what I want loud sound at low revs as well as high. I hate the way the valves stay closed until you gun it. Sounds epic in first gear with the secondary decat so want that all the time (apart from on the motorway).

Stripping wires and soldering them (with my very limited set off skills) on a £48k car sends shivers down my spine!

Just unplug the passengers side, I did it a while back and haven't looked back since. Super easy and even easier to plug back in if you don't like it

What about motorway drone? Is it bad?

Depends what speed you go at. My other halves folks live 3 hours away and we can put up with it but it also helps if you've got music going. Some people won't like the drone but everyone's different. I definitely recommend trying it because you can always plug it back in.

Sure is.. lol
The ASR will give u full control. K electronic make one as well and MTM.
Unplugging will keep the lhs valve open. Rhs is still closed.

I've tried all the combinations retaining the OEM exhaust. If u want it really loud, go with the valve control unit which give u flexibility to turn down the drone. Best of all worlds

I could vomit all over my dash and it would still be a nicer place to sit than the Focus RS!

Hows the hip?
