Its not just Audi, going back a few years ,,,

I sold a Audi 80 soft top an old R reg years ago and ordered a new S reg C class merc .

Before the car was delivered the salesman was ringing me twice a week to see if all was ok and could he lend me a car because I had sold mine in readiness for the new car.

Took delivery of the car all was good , about three weeks later I decided I wanted some mudflaps for the car so back I went to the dealership to

order/ buy some the salesman walked straight passed me and didnt even acknowledge me so I felt really pissed off that one he had got the sale he could not give a stuff .

Fast forward six months ,

I happened to to write off the new merc,,,,,,,, through no fault of my own only to find out I had new for old on a new car for a year on my policy

So back I went to the Merc dealer , sat at his desk and proceeded to tell him that I needed a new car same as the old on the insurance for a

£32k replacement all of a sudden he was my best mate again and could not do enough for me,

But I conveniently forgotten to tell him I had a CLK on order from germany (when you could save a ton of money back then by importing your own car )

He must have rung me 10 times to say my car was ordered but I never went back,,,

That showed him ! :P

Can you actually still buy a Clubsport S? If its the one with the scaffolding in place of the back seats they sold out on launch last year (150 in the UK) and now go for list +25%

I've usually found VW dealers more friendly and approachable compared the the Audi lot, after they moved to splitting the range into separate dealerships in the 90's? the service was night and day better at the VW garages.

There are a few ones for sale around the country at a slight premium yes. None of these cars were anywhere near 25 percent above list.

Fair enough, when I looked earlier this year they were £40-45k at most stealers... probably after the car won lots of plaudits from the magazines. I guess they have come down a bit in price since then? Though were there many optional extras apart from the wheels and tyres?

Nice cars, with nice seats too.

If only Audi could make a Clubsport RS3...

No there are ones available with delivery mileage for between 35 and 40k. I think VW overplay the hype personally.

Yep i figured because they had physical cars they needed to shift before the end of the month that was more important.

I once visited BMW to buy a Z4 3ltr from memory to be told i didn't need that sized engine as it was too powerful and that i should look at the 2.0ltr version. Turned out they had four 2ltrs sat there funnily enough..... needless to say i walked out.

BMW poor sales attitude is what sent me to Audi in the first place I went to look at a D3 alpina not an every person car and I literally was spoke to like poo and ignored so 6 Audis later 5 different dealerships BMW can stay poked !
