Would be nice to get a nice replacement performance filter :)

I’ve never liked coned filters and mentioned previously they tend to suck in hot air where engines run so much more efficiently on cold air, the more dense cold air the bigger the bang the more the horses produced ( as you all well know 😬 )

I was speaking to a guy there and offered my car for a few days to check fitment as reasonably local,

not a word back in months, so bought a 2nd hand HG intake pipe and fitted a K&N.

Cant be arsed chasing people, as said there is loads out there now, no need for the eventuri as nice as it looks,

I rarely run around with the bonnet open

Has the HG & K&N combination given you any more induction noise? I don't fancy paying for the Eventuri either. A carbon fibre version of the HG would be nice but I can't find one and HG have no plans to make one.

Revo do a carbon intake pipe that goes on the oem air box if that floats your boat? If you have a spare £500 floating around.

TBH I paid £165 delivered for the pipe and less than £60 for the filter so a bargain really, Induction noise havent really noticed, too busy listening

to the engine :-)

Many thanks. It would appear that none of the really expensive intake kits offer more than the HG or Revo so little point in paying for them. Not sure that I think the Revo carbon is worth an extra £300 but I guess it's the price you pay for pretty over functionality.

For anyone interested & following this the Revo intake above isn't compatible with the 2017/2018 car. They have one under development now but it may be some time before it becomes available.

I got a response back from RamAir saying he had chased his R&D department, but ive still heard nothing so im giving up. Not interested anyway since as you say the 5 pot on full chat is orgasmic. Best money i spent was the Decat as the sound is even better.

It looks like Storm Developments have a new, 90mm, carbon intake pipe about to become available.
Interestingly, Doug at MRC said that he suspects it may be the metal, pre turbo pipe that is providing the biggest restriction.

I will shortly be fitting this HG Motorsport intake to my new FL car along with a high flow filter. The pipe and fittings cost just over £200 which I thought was good value considering some of the other much more expensive offerings and the inconclusive results.

I think the size difference can clearly be seen in the picture (note - it does come with hose clamps but they are not shown in the picture). This will be just a part of some other mods which will be going on the car over the coming months.

Just to add my car was the testpilot for the latest Ramair setup. It was fitted, some measurements taken and tested. Currently waiting development then it will be fitted back to my car in a few weeks.
