S3 to RS3

After owning an S3 for the last 9 months I have just taken delivery of a 2016 Catalunya Red RS3. My original plan was to wait for the RS3 saloon but personally I'm not too impressed with how it looks and with no one really knowing when it will be available in the U.K. I decided look for a Sportback instead.
So glad I made the upgrade, I wasn't convinced it would be 'that' much better than the S3 but I enjoy it more every time I drive it. My only gripe is the ridiculously loud brake squeal at low speed (but I'm aware I'm not the only one!)
As soon as the cars detailed I'll post some pictures.

welcome!
you 'just' got your car and you have brake squeal?!
i would be telling them you want them to fit redstuff pads or you are returning it for full refund
it will only get worse and i spoke to Audi customer care today who said there is no fix and no compensation and basically tough poo !

dno, mark welcome to the OC Have to say that after 8000 miles I've have had no issues with my brakes, must be lucky. Not sure about the aggressive approach, regarding full refund but I don't see why they won't try and sort your problem out i.e have the pads or discs changed if they are squealing! Maybe its a dealer thing, but I've found my local dealer sorted every issue I've had.

Audi will not fit any part that is not Audi approved on a car that is covered by any Audi warranty ,so your "safety" and "dangerous " point of attack obviously didn't convince Audi into fitting "Redstuff " pads and paying you compensation.

The best colour by far!
We had an S3 and just assumed the RS3 was a total waste of cash 70bhp for £10k etc and then we drove one! Our 8 week old S3 got traded straight back in:)

Hello and welcome!
Plenty S3 owners say its not worth the jump.... then there's the ones who take the RS3 out for a drive and realise it certainly is

With regards to the brake issue I'll take it up with Audi in the new year. Sure it's annoying but ultimately it is fixable so I'm not letting it burst my bubble!
Having spent some time reading other people's stories about the brakes it's interesting that some Audi dealers seem to want to help and others just don't want to know. I've never had the greatest relationship with my local dealer so I may look further a field for some assistance.

If you purchased the car through the Audi Approved network then i would use the sales department to get the service department to sort it out for you It's a great car and as you say don't let it burst your
bubble just drive it and enjoy.

Im new to this forum!
I have owned 2 RS 3's this year.
Both with identical brake low speed squealing issues. I was very unlucky with my first Nardo RS3 as it was stolen while it was at a Melbourne Panel repair shop in South Melbourne for minor work in May this year.
I only had the car for 1 month and I was devastated! The police recovered it after a massive car and aerial chase! My Insurance replaced it with an identical RS3. Absolutely love it! Drove it at the Phillip Island race track and had a ball! Just extremely frustrating regarding the brake squealing issue as I drive through the CBD every day. My service centre has recorded the noise
and I have been told that a fix is on the way?? I Have also written letters to Audi Australia as well. They should be writing the letters to us - very poor on Audi's behalf!
Seems to be a very wide issue which i hope they resolve soon.
Anyway seems like a great forum..... speak soon

Hello
Recently purchased my RS3, could not be happier apart from the very annoying screeching brakes....super annoying.
I did have it remapped, not had chance to rolling road it yet so BHP is TBC...............

Prior to collection I'm guessing my car had been standing for a short while and having driven the car a little more since Xmas the noise has definitely quietened down, it's more of a squeak than a squeal now!
Although it is something I will try and get sorted under warranty it's not spoiling the enjoyment of this great vehicle!
