Evening lads, coming back to Audi after a two year break. Soon to be picking up a Phantom Black 8p RS3. It is already running stage 2, lowered etc. Had a Mk7 Golf R for the last 2 years, pretty decent car but I've always wanted that 5 cylinder soundtrack! Now looking forward to having to dig deep into the piggy bank to keep the RS3 ticking along 🙈

Cheers
Mark.

Thanks Roy, really impressed with the amount of knowledge on tap here. Seems like a quality group of lads as well.

Some are ever so clever on here ,I'm afraid I am useless on everything technical.

But as you say some of the lads on here are bloody clever and you will get an answer to almost any question ..

Where abouts are you ?

Since I bought it the end of last month I have done nothing but spend money on it :D  New discs and pads all round, it is away to go in to get the top mounts etc done when I get back home. Worth every penny when I take it out for a blast though.

How are you liking it compared to the Golf R?

I love it, obviously straight line speed is something else being over 400hp and nearly double the torque of the Golf. Handling is not as good, the Golf chassis is very good it gives you a lot of confidence and it's not missplaced. The RS3 handling can be helped with a 034 rear ARB of course, the lack of chassis fineness is a small price to pay but the 5 cylinder makes up for it. The RS3 is bit dated inside compared to the Golf but I've wanted an one since 2011 so I can look past all these things. Having an older car also means I can get more hands on again as well and do a lot of work myself.
