Hey all,

was potentially eyeing up a set of Revo RV019 alloys;

Revo-wheels.jpg

However, the sizes are 19x8.5" ET45 all round.
I know this will work fine on the front, but will they work on the rear or will I require spacers to clear the suspension mounts?

I'm planning to put on 245/255 Michelin PSS all round so I can swap the tyres as I go.

I'm driving 8.5x19 ET 45 with 19" MPSS on the rears. You should be fine.

Is that with 255 on the rear as well, if so is there much difference in the handling?

I'm running an 8.5et45 on the rear with a 235 and it rubs.  That's with a 10mm spacer and HR Springs as well.

I'm gonna shave few mm off the spacer.

And you won't fit a 255 on the rear with an 8.5

Not gonna happen!  I don't even think you'll get a 245.  I tried on mine.  235 was the max it would take.

On mine its a 235 on the rear.

Also: HRE told me that on some wheels it is possible to fit 255 all around.

They said that the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti R can fit if used with the correct rim. (8.5x19 but I forgot the offset)

They sent me picture when they fitted the FF15 on a regular A3 Sportback.

There was about 5mm space between the tyre and the damper.

Really close one but they said it worked without rubbing.

Ha ha, some variations in findings here!
I've sent REVO a message to ask - I'm assuming that since they managed to fit the wheels on several Mqb vehicles, the RS3 should work too...
In images (like the one in the first post) the tyres look pretty square on the rim, so my guess is 245 width or so...

Anyone else have some input on this? I'm looking at ADV.1 and HRE in 19" but sticking to 8" width, with running 245 all round. That sound achievable?

I've come from owning a B8 RS4 for the past 3.5 years and had the RS3 for less than a week, so I'm listening intently....

I think you'd want no more than 235 on an 8" rim otherwise youight find the sidewall flexing, 8.5" will go to 255.
REVO did get back to me and said they had no problem using 8.5 at the rear and had a few pics of their test RS3 with them. It wasnt entirely clear what size of tyres they were using exactly, but it looked at least 245 all round

@ ConR - no wonder it rubs, your running the equivalent to an ET35 by using a 10mm spacer! That's 27.6mm more poke than the factory 8J ET50 rim.

Depends what the ET is, would have thought anything 45+ and you should be OK

ET40 is the minimum offset on an 8J rim. On an 8.5J that means ET45 is lowest as P_G has already said!

Yeah but it looks awesome!!!    :D

It won't clear the rear caliper without the spacer.  It's a must.  But I do have about 2-3mm to play with.  I'm just waiting for a few more of my parts to come in before it goes back to my mate to fix up a few things (Wagner IC, carbon parts, yellow calipers, shave spacers down a few mm, etc.).

Correct and the front 255\30 option in 8.5J is ET53
