[RS3-in-March]

Need some advice. I did the NC500 in the RS3 couple of days ago and on return I've got some chipping of the paint front bottom of side skirt, edge of rear wheel arch and lower front bumper. None of the chips are big (pin pricks) but lots in a small area . What's best way to restore the paint? Hand polish? Machine polish? Colour wax? I don't think it's bad enough to need painted as when car is wet the marks aren't visible.

Best way to tell is if you can catch your nail or anything in it then it most likely will not buff out.
If it feels smooth to run your hand over it then it should buff.
I would hand polish and if that doesn't work then machine polish and wax

If they are indeed chips, don't waste your time polishing. The paint has been removed so there is technically nothing to polish there. You "could" try a colour match wax type product as a short term fix, but it wont last and is never satisfactory. You could have it painted, or try one of those home kits but that will need sanding and polishing afterwards also.

I actually had it in to a local detailer few weeks ago and they painted the worst of the marks, wet sanded them, machine polished and re applied the ceramic coating and it's turned out great. It's not perfect but it's done 8000 miles now and they can't stay perfect forever unfortunately. Unless you leave them sat in a garage
