Just posted that I've sold the car. Insurer up till today was Adrian Flux, nothing odd about that you say, but you'd probably be surprised to know that on a premium of £360, paid in full on policy inception, with 65 days left to run, I get no rebate at all. Not a bean.

I'm annoyed. The reason for nothing back, as voiced by the delightful sounding Hayley, was "administrative costs" and "broker fees". In fact, it was going to cost me 14p to cancel - but they generously waived that "fee". I'm so, so grateful.

What a pile of poo.

So, stuff them. That's just daylight robbery, and because I had paid in full up front I had no bargaining tool.

I'd highly recommend going elsewhere. Anywhere. Just don't use Flux.

Pay monthly instead? Can't claw back any charges like that if you cancel part way through.

Sorry to say that the normal not just with Adrian Flux they all do that with just few months remaining  :(

With 4 months to run i got £87 back after £35 admin fee from Admiral, but that was due to them not being able to cover my RS with added mods.

Normally if you pay monthly you pay a first installment lump sum then 10 installments for that reason.

Dell.

All insurers are the same, after so many months you won't get anything back after fees etc unless it's a risk they won't cover and then the insurer will cancel pro-rata.

I know, I know, just getting it off my chest.

Note that paying monthly doesn't help as they cleverly offload that to a loan agent so you have to pay them.

My point badly made was that surely admin fees are an anachronism these days since it's all digital.

Hey ho. On to fresh fields.
