I think it looks nice a little bit sportier, but you lose some headroom in the backseat compared to the sportsback,

Seems odd to launch the SB so soon after the Saloon, won't that take prospective sales from the Saloon? Plus the A45 Coupe seems to sell really well in your country, so surely that's the market Audi want to join?

Still I can't wait to see the updated car later next year, just amazes me the difference in specification each country has for the same car, what drives those decisions?

Not super keen on saloon, but then I'm a hatch guy. I think the new FL SB will be great -- more agreesive front end and rear than the current SB which is a bit anonymous depending on the colour chosen. That combined with a new engine, updated infotainment and features and it's going be one great hot hatch. I can understand why a couple of current owners are in serious denial over a new one coming.

New Zealand is a bit like Europe -- hatches are very popular, and will likely still outsell the sedan by quite some margin. Audi NZ is taking the sedan for delivery April because they know they will sell them, and the SB isn't due to the third quarter.

European car models in NZ tend to be more expensive than other regions, but they are also quite highly spec'ed as standard. We're a small market and they only sell limited numbers and to justify the price they spec them up a bit.

Don't come on here and beat up current owners*, leave that for the other place  :ambulance: no one is in denial, until you posted above everything was pure speculation. Even now we don't actually know when it will arrive for sure given dealers have been known to bullshit customers ...

I agree TX. I'm more than happy with my car and by the time the FL SB arrives I'd have had it for nearly two years. Updated kit normally means updated pricing as well. I'd be interested to see how many folk will actually 'buy' one of these cars rather than talk about it. My gut feeling is not many.

I'm not beating you up, just stating the facts. You have the attitude that it's ok to beat up prospective new customers who are excited about the prospect of a new model. I've been a member of many car forums before, but never encountered the negative banter like I see in here.

Also, it's not a dealer saying this, it's Audi New Zealand. Of course things can change, but even you have to admit it's the most credible source for information about an upcoming model, surely?

I also understand that availability in other countries will vary. My point is that this thing definitely exists, it's coming, and in the not too distant future. Are we allowed to be excited about it?

Interesting that New Zealand are getting the RS 3 saloon months ahead of the UK. The Audi UK website was still talking about late 2017 last time I looked.

Have you got/are you getting the TT RS in New Zealand too, JonoNZ? Just wondering whether that has any impact on the different release dates.

Good to see the SB mentioned by Audi NZ. Not convinced by the new front grill on the A3/S3, so not sure whether the FL will be as attractive as the original 8V.

I'm pretty sure this is because of the EU block on the new engine as of 31/12/16. Non EU countries will no undoubtedly get the models early (with current rendition of the new engine) until they have a new-new engine that meets the EU regulation (even if that's down to just changing the coolant and testing)

Hi, I'm not too sure about the TTRS, I haven't followed it closely. We do get models early here -- for example NZ was the first delivery country for the SQ7 as well. The biggest issue that can slow delivery is the availability of RHD models (like the UK). No idea why, but possibly due to extremely streamlined vehicle compliance and approval processes here. We often get models many many months before Australia.

From order to delivery typically takes 4 months here. We just took delivery of a new Q7 S-line about 2 months ago and have a good relationship with the dealer who forwards any upcoming information from Audi NZ as soon as it arrives in his inbox which is handy!

Check out the Pistonheads review of the TTRS............. I nearly fell off the chair when he revealed the spec price of the car. Yes that's right, he did say £68K!!!!!!

Wonder what the price will be for the RS3 Saloon and Sportback......... a few people who have been waiting for the SB may need to dig pretty deep if they want to include a few toys.

The RS3 sedan here starts at NZD$106k (~GBP£60k), up from NZD$99k (~GBP£56k) for the outgoing Sportback. It appears to have more standard kit though including virtual cockpit, LED lights, and some extra assistance systems are all standard. In NZ these are premium cars and have a lot of standard equipment which may be a lot more than in other markets. The price list attachment in my first post shows what is standard on the car in NZ. I would expect the new SB to be pretty similar.
